Attacks targeting Telecom companies have been detected to seize 5G Projects. Announced by cybersecurity researchers that attackers have launched an attack campaign targeting telecom companies around the world to hijack projects of 5G technology. Attackers use this campaign to obtain information about 5G technology from compromised victims and to capture sensitive data. It is stated that the attacks mainly target telecommunications providers in Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States.

It is estimated that the attack was carried out by the Chinese-linked APT group Mustang Panda. This group, known as Mustang Panda and also RedDelta, has conducted espionage attacks on many organizations around the world in the past.

In order not to be affected by such attacks, DLP products should be used within the company, data that is important confidentiality should be specified by the policy. Awareness training should be given to end users, the effectiveness of awareness training should be reported, EDR products should be used.
