Data governance ensures that data management activities are carried out in a consistent and harmonious manner, ensuring effective use of data resources and minimizing risks through the coordinated work of people who assume various roles and responsibilities such as data owners, data management board, data managers, users, IT personnel.
For example, in a corporate company, governance creates interconnected relationships that concern every level and every process of the organization and is concerned with making sure that it manages them as it is designed. In other words, both people and systems are involved.
