• Although the investigations regarding when and how the Violation took place continue, according to the preliminary findings, the people who caused the Violation, to start on 28.04.2023 and end on 06.05.2023, to the SMS sending portal of the company from which the company receives SMS sending service. and access to the personal data of some customers on this portal,
• Sending the above-mentioned Unauthorized SMS to some of the customers whose personal data they have accessed,
• Personal data, contact data (mobile phone number) and customer transaction data (information about which marketing SMSs were sent by the Company and whether these SMSs were delivered) were affected by the breach,

• The website www.mediammarkt.com directed by the unauthorized SMS is not a site established for legitimate purposes, it is a site created for fraudulent purposes and imitates www.mediamarkt.com.tr operating for legitimate purposes,
• Currently, the Fake Site has been listed as a Phishing site by the Information Technology Authority and has been closed to access.
• To mitigate potential negative consequences upon understanding of the Violation:
• All of our marketing SMS sending system at the company from which the company receives SMS sending service is immediately closed to all entries,
• A warning SMS has been sent by our Company at 21:39 on the same day through our YKM account to which the fake SMS was sent.
• It is reported that necessary studies have been initiated to make the necessary notifications to the Personal Data Protection Authority and to file a criminal complaint with the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor.
