During the pandemic process, cyber attackers did not stop, and phishing attacks increased by 26% in the last 3 months. Security researchers said that as a result of their analysis, news about the Corona vaccine was used. It turns out that this closely follows the attacks by cybercriminals and real-world news events, and users perform their attacks with remarkable events. It was revealed that the attackers directed people who clicked on the link in the e-mail to which the e-mails claiming to have supposedly provided advantages such as early possession of the vaccine, pretending to be from the health institution related to the Corona vaccine, to different sites and redirecting them to pages where they requested personal information or payment numbers.
In order to be protected from such attacks, it is necessary to tighten the cyber security policies within the institution. Awareness training should be given to the employees of the institution. By positioning the phishing simulation tools within the institution, the awareness of the personnel working in the institution should be measured at regular intervals.
