Microsoft Adds Default Protection Against RDP 'Brute Force' Attacks to Windows 11

Microsoft has introduced Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), part of the latest version of the Windows 11 operating system, to upgrade its security potential to meet the evolving threat landscape Brute Force takes steps to prevent attacks. Microsoft's vice president of operating system security and corporate David Weston said“Windows 11 builds are now RDP and there is a default account lockout policy to reduce other Brute Force password vectors”. This technique is used in human-run ransomware and other attacks used to gain unauthorized access to computers with Windows operating systemsen has become one of the popular methods.

Account Lockout Policy, On Windows 10 systems is also available. However, it is not active by default and allows attackers to Brute Force attack Windows systems with the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) service.

With Windows 11 improving the Account Locking policy Insider Preview 22528.1000 and For later versions, accounts are automatically locked for 10 minutes after 10 unsuccessful login attempts.
