LastPass Hacked, Source Code Compromised

LastPass, the password management app, confirmed the hack that took place last week.

The security breach is said to have occurred two weeks ago and targeted the development environment. It is also claimed that no customer data or encrypted passwords were accessed.

LastPass CEO Karim Toubba said, “An unauthorized party gained access to parts of the LastPass development environment and obtained portions of the source code and some proprietary LastPass technical information through a single compromised developer account.” said.

Amid the ongoing investigation into the incident, the company said it had deployed the services of a leading cybersecurity and forensics firm and implemented additional countermeasures.
