In the statement, it was stated that customers' sensitive data was accessed. The firm thought that the best way was to notify customers by e-mail and refused to pay the ransom, then informed their customers. 

As soon as the ransom demand came, the company also stated in its statement that it started an investigation in cooperation with a 3rd party cyber security firm.

Ferrari stated that, based on the investigation so far, no payment information has been stolen.

It was reported that the names, addresses, e-mail addresses and phone numbers of the customers were accessed in the leaked data.
