There was a first in cyber attacks against health institutions. According to the statement made by the University of Dusseldorf, it was stated that on Thursday, September 10, at 03:00 local time, it was attacked by ransomware and the hospital system crashed. This situation led to the inability to access the data of the patients, the postponement of the surgeries, and the transfer of the patients in the ED to other hospitals.

Meanwhile, it was reported that a patient receiving treatment had to be transferred to a different hospital 60 km away and died due to delayed treatment. This event was recorded as the first cyber-attack-related death in health services.
